About
About Zambia Ending AIDS
Zambia Ending AIDS is a national campaign brought to you by the Ministry of Health, developed by USAID DISCOVER Health, aimed at reducing HIV infection by increasing demand for, and long-term use of high-impact HIV prevention products and services. These include HIV Testing Services (HTS), Antiretroviral Therapy (ART), condom use, Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT), Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC), and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP).
What are the Campaign Objectives?
- Encourage open and honest discussions about sex and HIV.
- Raise awareness around HIV and prevention options.
- Address accurate risk perceptions.
- Generate and engage in positive discussions to help end new HIV infections in Zambia.
- Promote safe sex behaviour and encourage people to adopt safer sex practices.
- Get people to use relevant HIV prevention and treatment products and services.
The campaign will address what audiences
need to KNOW, THINK, and DO:
KNOW:
There are multiple HIV prevention and treatment products and services to keep you healthy and prevent the transmission of HIV, whether you are HIV-negative or HIV-positive.
THINK:
There is an HIV product/service that suits me and my lifestyle – people can take control of protecting themselves from becoming infected with HIV.
DO:
Visit a health centre (or use home-based test) to get an HIV test, choose and use an HIV prevention product that is appropriate and keep using the product, as directed.
The campaign is co-ordinated by the Ministry of Health and the National HIV/AIDS/STI/TB Council (NAC), with support from partners.
And we invite you to partner with us!
