Ending AIDS

Your Country
Needs You

Zambia Ending AIDS aims to help you make safer sexual choices and behaviours. We are committed to providing the most vulnerable people with the tools and support they need to minimise HIV transmission. Zambia achieved the United Nations’ HIV/AIDS goal of 90-90-90: This means that 90% of HIV-infected people are diagnosed, 90% of those diagnosed are on Antiretroviral medication, and 90% of those on Antiretroviral treatment are virally suppressed. Ending AIDS in Zambia is now a real possibility.

We need you to play your part because we can only end AIDS in Zambia if each of us does our part. The goal of this campaign is to end AIDS in Zambia by 2030. We can do it, if we do it together!

How Can You End AIDS?

Get Tested

If you engage in sexual activities, you should get tested for HIV at least twice a year. Knowing your HIV status allows you to take control of your health while also contributing to the reduction of HIV transmissions in our community. Taking a test is easier than you think, and it puts you in control.

HIV testing is fast, easy, and confidential. Many places offer free tests!

Get Treated

If you test positive for HIV, you should get treatment as soon as possible. The correct treatment can lead to an undetectable viral load (UVL), which lessens the damaging effects of HIV by improving your health and preventing HIV transmission to others. Being on HIV treatment also allows you to have safe sexual intercourse without fear of HIV transmission.

Get Safe

Whether you test positive or negative, you need to choose an HIV prevention method that is effective for you, such as condoms, PrEP, ARTs, or a combination of these. Staying safe reduces the stress and worry that happens when having intercourse, and helps in the prevention of HIV transmission.
